Fandango Series + Tekstin Taco (Pop-Up Restaurant)

Join Jaranas del Norte @jaranasdelnorte, Ku'um collective, Tekstin Talo @tekstintalo, and Tÿpo @bar_typo, for an evening of son jarocho music, food, and community. 

Tekstin Taco, created by Ku'um collective (Daniel Malpikka @x_written + Amado Peña @pancakesinpijamas), is a monthly pop-up restaurant at bar Tÿpo. It explores the connections between Mesoamerican and Nordic traditions through corn-based cuisine.

Food and music join together in the fandango hosted by Jaranas del Norte. The fandango is a communal practice, rooted in the son jarocho tradition of Veracruz, where everyone is encouraged to take part—playing, singing, dancing, or simply being present.

Bring your hunger for new flavours, a musical instrument that can be your voice, or just your dancing shoes, and join us at the tarima. 

Workshop: Introduction to Fandango

Join us in this workshop where you'll explore the rich tradition of fandango and learn various ways to participate in it.

In this session, we'll dive into the rhythms of son jarocho music, focusing on zapateado (tap dance) and percussion. With your newfound skills, you'll be ready to celebrate and jam in the fandango afterward!

What to bring:
- Comfortable shoes for tapping.
- Any percussion instruments you can find at home.

Donations are welcomed and can be made easily in cash or Mobile Pay.
